Description

Description: Recombinant human PIK3C2B (850-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
Scientific Background: PIK3C2B or phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 3-kinase, catalytic subunit type 2 beta belongs to the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) family. PIK3C2B plays a role in signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, oncogenic transformation, cell survival, cell migration, and intracellular protein trafficking. PIK3C2B is highly expressed in thymus and placenta and it may function in a calcium-independent manner (1). In cell signaling, PIK3C2B stabilizes nucleotide-free Ras and the interaction of Ras and PI3KC2beta mutually inhibits one another activity (2)
